The Afghan Red Crescent Society says its chairman, Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, held talks with representatives of the Norwegian Red Cross focused on expanding humanitarian assistance and strengthening coordination between the two organizations.

During the discussions, Delawar described the Norwegian Red Cross’s support for disaster-affected communities as significant. He also called on the organization to further expand its assistance to vulnerable and needy families throughout Afghanistan, while reaffirming the Afghan Red Crescent Society’s full readiness to cooperate.

The head of operations of the Norwegian Red Cross, for his part, pledged that the organization will continue its close partnership with the Afghan Red Crescent Society and further strengthen its humanitarian support.

He further noted that, in a separate meeting, representatives of the World Bank expressed interest in supporting healthcare services in Afghanistan.
