The provincial media office of Panjshir Province has announced that, for the first time, official extraction of emerald gemstone mines has begun in the province, with the aim of strengthening economic self-sufficiency and creating employment opportunities.
According to provincial authorities, the initiative is intended to expand the legal extraction of mineral resources and provide job opportunities for young people.
Officials further stated that 10 emerald mines have already been identified in the districts of Anaba District, Abshar District, and Bazarak District, where trial extraction activities have already produced positive results.
Meanwhile, the provincial Directorate of Mines has confirmed that all extraction licenses for additional companies have been fully issued, with operational activities expected to commence soon in other districts as well.
It is worth noting that, in addition to emeralds, a total of 17 types of mineral resources, including gold and other precious stones, have also been identified in Panjshir Province.
