Oman’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al-Khalili, has praised the Afghan government’s historic decision to eliminate interest-based transactions from the country’s banking system, calling it an important reform step.
He urged all Islamic countries and financial institutions worldwide to adopt and follow this commendable initiative.
Earlier, Arab economic adviser and political analyst Fawad Kawsar also praised Afghanistan’s efforts to reform its banking system.
