Continuing the secret information about the Vienna conference, Hindukush Voice has recently obtained some information that American, British, and some other Western countries’ intelligence representatives have met behind closed doors with officials and representatives of the Resistance Front and the Freedom Front, as well as some members of the Resistance Council.
A member of the leadership of the Resistance Front and a member of the Resistance Council, Fazl Ahmad Manavi, confirmed to the Hindu Kush Voice source that the intelligence representatives of the United States and Britain, who did not have a direct presence at the mentioned meeting and did not want their attendance to be reflected in the media, were indirectly monitoring the meeting. These intelligence representatives held discussions on various important issues in different special rooms of a particular hotel with the officials of the Resistance Front and the Freedom Front and the invited representatives of the Resistance Council.
According to Ma’navi, discussions were held in these special meetings about increasing intelligence cooperation between the Resistance Front and the United States and Britain in certain specific areas, and promises of assistance to the Resistance Front were made by these countries.
Ma’navi also stated to the source thadohe do not know what the agenda of the meeting between the representatives of these countries and the representatives of the Freedom Front and the Resistance Council was, but it is estimated that the meetings with both opposing factions were conducted for specific intelligence purposes.
It should be noted that after the re-establishment of the caretaker government’s rule, the West has made every effort to utilize Afghan expatriate opposition figures against neighboring and regional countries in the intelligence sector.
According to the Voice of the Hindu Kush, such efforts have recently increased from both the West and Iran. Iran has also recently intensified its clandestine interactions with representatives of the Resistance Council and other opposition groups. In the past month, a significant delegation from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps met with some opposition figures in Turkey, and after the Vienna talks, a key member of the Resistance Council leadership, Abdul Rab Rasul Sayyaf, also traveled to Iran. It is expected that another delegation from the Resistance Council will travel to Iran in the coming days.
