The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock stated in a press release that officials from the Kandahar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock prevented the smuggling of 502 sheep during an anti-smuggling campaign in Maruf district.

According to the source, a number of individuals attempted to illegally and unlawfully transport the sheep across the Durand Line into Pakistan. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident.

It is worth noting that efforts to prevent livestock smuggling in Kandahar have increased, and in recent months, thousands of sheep have been stopped from being smuggled.
