Pakistani media have reported that authorities have decided to deploy 23,500 additional police personnel to Islamabad as the country’s security situation continues to deteriorate.
According to the reports, 15,000 personnel have been requested from Punjab, 8,000 from Sindh and 500 from Balochistan. The respective provincial governments have been asked to send the personnel to Islamabad by September 20.
The request comes as security incidents and instability continue to increase across Pakistan, with the deteriorating security situation now reaching the capital from other provinces.
