The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) has announced the commencement of the “Al-Khandaq Operations” with the arrival of spring 2025. According to the group, the objective of these operations is to carry out offensive attacks on Pakistan’s security forces, targeted killings, and self-sacrificial attacks, all of which will be carried out using advanced weaponry.

The Pakistani Taliban state that these operations are inspired by the Battle of the Trench (Ghazwa-e-Khandaq), where Muslims constructed defensive trenches to defend against their enemies and ultimately achieved victory. The group has strongly criticized Pakistan’s military, accusing it of driving the country into a deepening crisis.

The Pakistani Taliban have also called on the Pakistani public to support them, urging citizens to cease any cooperation with the military and security agencies. They claim that their jihad (Holy War) will ultimately bring “true peace” to Pakistan.
