The Pakistan Taliban movement has strongly condemned the government’s arrest of Umm-e-Hassaan, the wife of former Lal Masjid imam Maulana Abdul Aziz and the administrator of Jamia Hafsa.

In an official statement, the group denounced the arrest, urging the public to stand in solidarity with Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa and to “prevent the oppressors from repeating their acts of tyranny.”

The statement further noted that Umm-e-Hassaan’s detention has instilled fear and unrest in the area, sparking protests in response.

It is noteworthy that Umm-e-Hassaan, along with ten female students, was arrested by the Pakistani government yesterday.
