The Pakistani Taliban, in a newly released statement, accused the country’s military of orchestrating new schemes daily to divert attention from pressing issues, prolong its interference in political and civilian affairs, justify its involvement in unrelated matters, and conceal its failures. As part of these efforts, the group claimed, the military is attempting to ignite a civil war in Pashtun regions under the pretext of forming so-called “peace militias.”

The statement called on tribal elders, as well as religious and political figures, to prevent the military from establishing these militias and to refrain from taking part in what it described as the government’s “sinister game” and “dollar-driven war.”

The Pakistani Taliban further stated that, according to their reports, this military initiative under the name of peace militias is already being implemented in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Lakki Marwat, Karak, Khyber Agency, and particularly in Zakha Khel.

The statement also attributed Pakistan’s destruction to the military’s failed policies and misguided strategies, warning the public about the consequences of its actions.
