    Pakistani Taliban Report Highest Monthly Attack Count Since 2013

    The Pakistani Taliban, through Omer Media, its official media outlet, reported that their fighters carried out 315 attacks across various regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of Pakistan during May, marking the highest number of attacks in a single month since 2013. These operations targeted Pakistani government security agencies and personnel, resulting in a total of 355 casualties.

    According to the issued report, the attacks led to the deaths of 155 members of various Pakistani security agencies, while 200 others were injured. Additionally, 11 others including soldiers, police officers, militia members, and local police were captured alive.

    The report further states that the highest number of attacks were recorded in North Waziristan with 76 incidents, followed by 64 in South Waziristan, 43 in Khyber, 29 in Dera Ismail Khan, 22 in Bannu, and 20 in Tank. Dozens of additional attacks were carried out in various other districts.

    The Pakistani Taliban stated that among the operations, 126 were sniper or dragunove attacks, 104 were guerrilla attacks, 35 were ambushes, and 19 were retaliatory strikes.

    According to the report, the Pakistani Taliban destroyed 63 surveillance cameras, 42 military vehicles, 8 drone cameras, 6 military buildings, 3 armored vehicles, 1 tank, and several solar power and water supply networks belonging to Pakistani forces during these operations.

    Additionally, the group reported seizing 15 rifles of different kinds, three thermal imaging devices, three night-vision binoculars, one M4 rifle, a rocket launcher, a drone camera, one vehicle, a motorcycle, and a significant quantity of other ammunition and equipment.
