Sources from Pakhtunkhwa, speaking to Voice of Hindukush, have reported that the Pakistani Taliban ambushed a military convoy in the Loni Pul area of the Kalachi district in Dera Ismail Khan. During the attack, a military tank and an armored vehicle were completely destroyed, resulting in the death of seven soldiers and leaving several others wounded.

The sources suggest that the attack was executed as an act of retaliation by the Pakistani Taliban in response to the death of Saqib Gandapur, the Pakistani Taliban’s leader in Dera Ismail Khan, who was killed in a military raid the preceding day.
