Herat provincial officials have announced that within the next ten days, passenger rail service will commence between Herat and Mashhad via the Khawaf-Herat railway line.
In a statement, the Herat governor’s office said that increased use of this railway not only expands commercial ties between Afghanistan and regional and global countries but also marks a significant development in transit facilities and passenger transportation.
The statement added that this progress will further enhance Afghanistan’s strategic importance as a connecting corridor between Asia and Europe.
