    Project to Block Branching Channels of the Amu River Begins in Balkh Province

    The Ministry of Water and Energy says that work has begun on a project to block the branching channels of the Amu River in the Patli Ilaq area of Shortepa district, Balkh province.

    According to the information, the project is being carried out with the support of machinery, financial resources, and a technical team from the Amu Riverbank Protection Directorate.

    It has been stated that with the implementation of this project, dozens of jeribs of land will be converted into agricultural land, and dozens of other jeribs will be protected from the destructive impacts of the Amu River.
