Local sources in Paktika province have told Voice of Hindukush that reports of Pakistani airstrikes in Barmal district are unfounded. According to these sources, the bombardment took place beyond the barbed-wire border, in North and South Waziristan.

Recently, claims circulated on social media suggesting that Pakistani aircraft had conducted airstrikes in Paktika’s Barmal district. However, these reports have no factual basis.

Notably, after failing in direct confrontations with Pakistani Taliban fighters, the Pakistani government has resorted to bombing public areas and residential homes in Waziristan, reportedly causing civilian casualties, including women and children.
