Reuters reports that public concern in the United States has surged sharply amid escalating tensions with Iran.

A Reuters survey carried out across five U.S. states found that a significant number of Americans are increasingly alarmed and frustrated over the potential expansion and prolongation of the conflict.

Respondents said that rising oil prices and growing economic instability could push the country toward economic decline or collapse.

This comes after recent Iran–United States negotiations ended without agreement, while U.S. officials have warned of possible strikes against Iran.
