The Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that the Russian Ambassador to Afghanistan, Dmitry Zhirnov, officially announced during a meeting with Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, that Russia now recognizes the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
According to the source, Zhirnov described the decision as an important and historic step toward strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Russia.
On the other hand, Mr. Muttaqi welcomed Russia’s decision, stating that it marks the beginning of a new phase of positive relations, mutual respect, and constructive engagement between the two countries.
It is noteworthy that Russia has become the first country to officially recognize the Islamic Emirate.
