Sheikh Abdul Rahman Munir, Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics at the Ministry of Interior, met with Russia’s Ambassador to Kabul, Dmitry Zhirinov.
Munir described narcotics as a global challenge, urging the international community to support farmers with alternative livelihoods and to expand rehabilitation and treatment services for individuals suffering from addiction.
Ambassador Zhirinov praised the Islamic Emirate’s counter-narcotics initiatives, noting that the Afghan government’s achievements in this area are unparalleled.
According to the Ministry’s Counter-Narcotics Department, both sides concluded the meeting by pledging to strengthen cooperation in combating and preventing narcotics.
