    Supreme Court: 5,615 Prisoners Released or Granted Sentence Reductions on Eid al-Fitr Under Special Policy

    The Supreme Court of Afghanistan has announced that, following a decree from the interim government’s leadership and under the directive of Chief Justice Sheikh Abdul Hakim Haqqani, a special policy was implemented for Eid al-Fitr, resulting in the release or sentence reduction of 5,615 prisoners across the country.

    According to the statement, 2,463 prisoners eligible for amnesty were released, while 3,152 others had their sentences reduced.
