The Syrian Defense Ministry has announced the completion of military operations against the remnants of the Bashar al-Assad regime in the country’s coastal regions.
Ministry spokesperson Hassan Abdulghani stated that security threats posed by former regime elements in the cities of Tartus and Latakia have been eliminated.
In recent days, remnants of the Assad regime staged an armed uprising in these coastal areas. In response, the Defense Ministry launched extensive clearance operations, during which the insurgents suffered heavy losses.
