The spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, said clashes broke out in Chah Ab District of Takhar Province between officials of a gold-washing company and local residents.
According to him, the incident left three civilians and one company employee dead, while five others sustained injuries.
Qani added that police have arrested two individuals in connection with the incident, including a security staff member of the company and a local resident.
He added that following the swift intervention of security forces, the situation has stabilized and the area is now completely under control.
