Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, former President of Turkmenistan, announced that the initial phase of the TAPI gas pipeline project is set to be completed this year in Herat province.
In an interview with an Arabic media outlet, he noted that the project is expected to ease longstanding tensions between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.
The TAPI project is a key natural gas transport initiative, enabling the direct transport of gas from Turkmenistan through Afghanistan to Pakistan and India.
The pipeline stretches 1,800 kilometers in total, with 816 kilometers passing through Afghanistan.
