In the Kamdesh district of Nuristan province, under the leadership of the Power Bank Front and led by Fazl Rabbi Khanjani with direct guidance from the ISI, an attempt was made by over a hundred deceived fighters to take control of the road between the Kamdesh and Barg-e Matal districts. However, this attempt was completely uncalculated and poorly judged. Khanjani was leading the mentioned movement while being unaware of the geographical situation of the area, neglecting the intelligence vigilance of Afghan security forces due to the arrogance of ISI, and pushing people’s sons into the abyss of death.
The calculations of ISI, the Power Bank Front, and the ISIS group were proven to be even more unsuccessful when they faced a crushing response, suffered heavy losses, and a handful of their members were forced to flee the area empty-handed. They thought that this land had no owner and that ISI would be able to bring them to power, but in reality, the opponents were deliberately given the opportunity to enter this side of the Durand Line to gain dominance over all the opponents and then lose the chance to retreat. This is why decisive and strong operations were launched against the members of the Power Bank Front, resulting in the deaths of many members and the capture of some.
The identity, background, and the reasons for the abduction and killing of these Afghan youths who were smuggled from Iran and then settled in Pakistani military camps also have causes, one of which is the financial and ideological crisis of the Power Bank Front. The enemy exploited the economic compulsion and helplessness of those Afghan youths who had gone to Iran for labor. They were first settled in Pakistan and then in camps near the imaginary lines there for a small amount of money. As a result, these people were aimless, demoralized, and lacked any war motivation, which led to their defeat against the Afghan security forces.
Another reason for sending these refugees from Iran to Pakistan is that the United States and its security partner, Pakistan, were concerned that the former Afghan military personnel based in Iran, due to their asylum, were under Iran’s influence and could be used against the U.S. and its allies at any time. To eliminate this concern, the former Afghan military personnel are first transferred to Pakistan and then, after training in other ISI and military regime camps, are sent back to Afghanistan along with several other troublemakers to threaten Afghanistan.
On the other hand, the Power Bank Front was initially facing failure, but they tried to cover up this defeat with propaganda. However, another opponent of this front, Atta Mohammad Noor, openly admitted and addressed the Power Bank Front, saying that they should not send the needy, refugees, and the youth of the oppressed people to the grave for the pleasure and fame of foreigners. But now that the situation has become undeniable, the Power Bank Front has unofficially denied that those armed individuals belong to them.
The Power Bank Front, despite ISI support, is facing severe difficulties and cannot accept responsibility for this major defeat. Social media activists and analysts believe that this act is gambling with the lives of desperate youth and is a historic shame for the Power Bank front, which sends desperate young people and some former military personnel to the front lines of war while they themselves take on projects and live comfortably in foreign countries.
