The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has stated that during his visit to Nangarhar, the minister, Mawlawi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani, inspected the ongoing process of distributing residential plots to returnees. He also assessed the organization and progress of the process and the measures being taken to address people’s concerns.
Hayat Haqqani discussed with Qari Ahmadullah Zahid, the head of the Urban Development and Housing Department in Nangarhar, the distribution process, the facilities provided, and ways to accelerate the work. He instructed that the distribution of plots to returnees be carried out in an organized, transparent, and fair manner.
The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing says that providing a suitable residential environment for returnees is among the Afghan government’s priorities. Efforts are being made to provide returning families with permanent housing through the construction of residential townships and the provision of land and housing facilities.
