For the past approximately 600 days, the Palestinian people have been subjected to severe oppression by the Zionist occupiers. In addition to the martyrdom of tens of thousands of innocent women and children, the homes and cities of Gaza have been turned into ruins. The people of Gaza are suffering to such an extent that their children are losing their lives due to hunger. These brutal tragedies have yet to reach the indifferent hearts of the world, and the so-called Islamic countries are merely watching in silence.
Gaza has shown us how the claimants of human rights, Eastern and Western countries, food, justice, and the United Nations organizations are unjust, hypocritical, and far from fair, turning a blind eye to the ongoing horrors in Gaza and remaining silent on the ongoing atrocities.
On the other hand, the so-called Islamic countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which claim to represent the Ummah, their actions are limited to meetings and those statements, which are often empty words, ineffective, and dramatic displays, and they always use political hypocrisy to deceive the people and issue statements.
Looking at history, what has happened to the people of Palestine is what has also happened to the people of Afghanistan. Palestine was colonized for years and years by colonial superpowers, and unfortunately, in the end, through plots and thousands of tricks and schemes, Great Britain occupied the land of Palestine forever with the help of the Jews.
As the people of Afghanistan, the history of the Palestinian people is also filled with resistance against occupiers. It has been nearly eight decades since the world’s powers joined hands and incorporated Jews into the lives of the Palestinian people as permanent adversaries and occupiers.
No nation shares a common and similar fate like the people of Afghanistan and Palestine. Although Afghanistan and Palestine are geographically far from each other, the surprising thing is that they have are similar and precise fate and history. Therefore, among all the nations and communities that have raised their voices in support of Palestine throughout history, the voice of the Afghans is very genuine, specific, and undoubtedly understandable.
Afghans who have themselves endured a long history of English, Russian, and American invasions and oppression have not forgotten the plight of the Palestinian people. In fact, they can understand the pain of the oppressed Palestinian people better than anyone else because Afghans have also witnessed bombings, homelessness, hunger, thirst, and migrations. The cries of orphans still cling to their minds, and the tears of mothers have become a part of history.
We greet every incident in Gaza with tears, and our hearts are restless with its suffering, like a mother who has lost her child. This grieving mother runs in every direction searching for her lost child, but finds nothing, and as time passes, her hopes fade away, taking with them the longing for reunion. Gaza is going through the same phase before us, and a part of our being is being torn apart, but we are powerless to heal it.
Gaza is the same weak and helpless region that has been soaked in the blood of thousands of innocent martyrs, most of whom are children, women, and ordinary people. But today, it is a victim of the Jews’ oppression, occupation, and genocide. The cries and wails of Gaza should awaken the conscience of Muslims so that the ongoing brutality and genocide in Gaza come to an end.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said that Muslims are like a single body; if one part of it is in pain, the whole body is restless. Gaza is also a part of this body (Ummah), so remaining silent about its suffering is a great injustice and betrayal of Islamic brotherhood. Gaza is not just a geographical location; it is the first Qibla of Muslims and a shared pain and trust of the Ummah that Muslims must support and raise awareness about to the world.
Today, in Afghanistan, mosque imams, writers, poets, Afghan youth, and intellectuals are sharing documentary, credible, and painful videos and information related to Gaza on social media in support of Al-Aqsa and the oppressed Gaza, expressing their grief, and calling for liberation across the world.
