The Kunar police command has strongly rejected reports and rumors alleging that security forces were responsible for the recent tragic incident in the province’s Shigal district. In an official statement, authorities clarified that the individuals involved were ordinary tourists who had traveled to Kunar from another province for sightseeing.

According to the statement, “Yesterday, a verbal dispute broke out between two young men in the Shigal district of Kunar. During efforts to resolve the matter, gunfires were shot, resulting in the deaths of two individuals who were residents of Kunar.”

The police further emphasized that the suspects have been arrested and will be handed over to an Islamic court following a thorough investigation.

It is worth noting that some foreign-based media outlets have been using this incident to spread propaganda against Afghan security forces, such claims are entirely baseless.
