U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that he will hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska next Friday.

Trump stated all three sides, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are close to finalizing a ceasefire agreement that could end the three-and-a-half-year conflict.

The announcement comes just days after Trump set a 12-day deadline for Russia to bring the war in Ukraine to an end.
