US President Donald Trump said Venezuela has agreed to immediately begin cooperation with major American oil companies.
Trump made the remarks during a meeting with executives of US oil firms, adding that Venezuela currently maintains good relations with the United States and shows respect toward Washington.
He claimed that with the reconstruction of Venezuela’s oil industry, Caracas and Washington together would bring nearly 55 percent of the world’s oil reserves under their control.
Trump further said that American companies are expected to invest up to 100 billion dollars in rebuilding Venezuela’s oil sector.
