U.S. officials have confirmed that the Trump administration plans to import hundreds of millions of eggs from Turkey and South Korea to prevent the soaring prices in American markets. According to officials, discussions are also ongoing with other countries regarding additional imports.

American media report that the U.S. government is battling an outbreak of avian influenza, which has led to the culling of tens of millions of chickens across the country.

Sources indicate that the egg shortage has pushed prices to record highs, with the cost of a dozen eggs reaching approximately $5.50.

Moreover, police in several U.S. states warn that egg theft is turning into a growing crisis, with hundreds of incidents being reported daily.

Despite Donald Trump’s commitment to stabilizing prices, egg costs surged by over 65% last year, and projections suggest they could rise by another 41% this year, posing a major challenge for his administration.
