According to a report by The Economist Times, two Republican members of the U.S. Congress have introduced a bill calling for sanctions against Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir, over allegations of suppressing political opponents.
The bill states that Asim Munir was involved in the arrest and crackdown on former Prime Minister Imran Khan and other political opposition figures, urging sanctions against him.
Additionally, the bill urges the U.S. government to identify and disclose other individuals involved in the arrest and suppression of political opponents in Pakistan.
