American Magazine Forbes reported that, while world remains focused on islands in the Persian Gulf, China has effectively gained control of an island in the South China Sea without any armed confrontation or use of force.

According to the report, heavy dredging equipment from Beijing is working at full capacity on the construction of an artificial island located approximately 400 kilometers off the coast of Vietnam.

The magazine further notes that much of the international community has remained largely silent in response to these developments.
