The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs said that HHM Global Industry Group, a UAE-based company, has expressed interest in investing in the construction of the second Salang Tunnel and a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Afghanistan.
According to a statement, the company’s proposed investments were discussed at a regular meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee, held under the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.
The committee welcomed the company’s interest and said the relevant ministries and government agencies would provide full support and cooperation for its investment projects.
The committee also asked the company to prepare detailed proposals for the second Salang Tunnel, the pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and other potential investment projects and submit them for review and discussion.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Delta International Company previously signed an agreement to invest $200 million in Afghanistan’s oil sector.
