UN special rapporteurs have stated that the cities of Al-Fashir and Kadugli in Sudan are confronting a deadly wave of famine.

According to reports, the humanitarian crisis in Al-Fashir has deepened after the city came under the control of the Rapid Support Forces.

It is said that due to the atrocities by these militias, tens of thousands of people have left their homes and become displaced within the city.

UN assessments indicate that in 20 other areas of Sudan’s Darfur and Kordofan states, the general population is also facing a serious threat of famine.
