The National Statistics and Information Authority has announced that, under a special directive issued by the leadership of the Afghan government, fees for verifying citizenship ID cards have been officially waived to improve public access to services, and all verification services related to national ID cards will now be provided free of charge.
The authority also confirmed that any mistakes inadvertently made by staff in recording information on citizenship ID cards will be corrected at no cost.
These corrections will be made after verification and approval by the head of Provincial Directorate of the Population Registration Services, the district Population Registration Services, and the directors of electronic ID card and Asan Khedmat centers throughout the country.
It is worth noting that the special directive by Afghan government’s leadership, designed to streamline services in the citizenship ID card services, is now being implemented, with several new conveniences already in place.
