The spokesperson for the Panjshir Province governor’s office, Saifuddin Laton, said that 1,220 carats of emeralds extracted from the province’s mines were sold through an open bidding process for 2.6 million Afghanis.
He added that domestic traders participated in the bidding.
It is worth noting that the extraction and sale of precious stones in Panjshir Province have increased employment opportunities in the province.
