The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice and Hearing of Complaints reported that its moral enforcers have rescued 21 women from various forms of abuse in Zabul, Takhar, Helmand, Nangarhar, Kunduz, Baghlan, Badakhshan, and Logar provinces.

According to the ministry, the women had been subjected to domestic violence, denial of providing maintenance, as well as psychological and physical abuse, among other forms of mistreatment.

The moral enforcers reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding women’s legitimate rights under Islamic law, stressing that no one is allowed to violate those rights.
