A tragic incident claimed the lives of 50 migrants, including 44 Pakistanis when their boat sank while traveling from Mauritania to Spain.

According to the International Human Rights Organization, on January 12th, Spanish maritime rescuers reported the disappearance of a boat carrying illegal migrants. After days of searching, the lost boat was finally found and later on, the Human Rights Organization confirmed the deaths of 50 out of the 86 passengers onboard.

Family members of the deceased passengers informed Pakistani media that their relatives wanted to travel to Europe, However, due to a lack of food and resources, the boat was trapped at sea for a long time, leading to this tragic incident.
