The Competition for Power within the Resistance Front is Growing Day by Day

The imaginary front called the Resistance was formed under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud in August 2021, after the interim government took complete control of the country.

The mentioned front occasionally warns of attacks against the caretaker government in the country, but government officials, social media users, and other citizens consider these attacks mere rumors and the imaginary claims of the Resistance Front.

Recently, Hindukush Voice extensively published news, audio clips, and documents regarding the internal conflicts of the mentioned front. From these documents and audio clips, it is evident that a deep disagreement and dispute have arisen between Ahmad Massoud and Amrullah Saleh, leading the Resistance Front, and this conflict is growing day by day.

In addition, a source from the Resistance Front had previously confirmed to the BBC World Service that this group, led by Ahmad Massoud, is facing the threat of disintegration due to internal conflicts.

According to a source from the BBC, the Resistance Front has long been grappling with criticism of its leadership from the leader’s family on one hand and challenges of corruption on the other.

In Tajikistan, under the leadership of Amrullah Saleh, Zahir Aghbar, Ghulam Bahauddin Jalali, and Ayub Salangi held secret meetings with several other dissatisfied members of the front. After lengthy discussions, they reached an agreement to separate from the Resistance Front and establish a new front under the leadership of Amrullah Saleh. These differences and personal rivalries can be considered the outcomes of these meetings.

Similarly, a few days ago in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, during an internal meeting of the front, a verbal conflict and the use of harsh words between the leader of the front, Ahmad Massoud, and Amrullah Saleh, who is also a member of the front, over the creation of another imaginary movement called “Rond-e Sabz” indicate deep differences between them.

In addition, a voice clip of a commander named Ikramuddin Sari from a group called Resistance in Iran, which was recently broadcast by Hindukush Voice, shows intense fighting and harsh insults among the group’s members, to the extent that they exchanged threats of physical harm against each other. This also indicates the existence of conflicts among them.

There have also been reports that instead of taking a unified stance against the Afghan government, the members of the leadership of the Resistance Front in the Austrian capital, Vienna, have been discussing and resolving their differences and disputes behind the scenes.

Political analysts attribute the ongoing disputes and disagreements among the factions known as the Resistance to the distribution of funds received from foreign intelligence organizations, global privileges, positions, and exclusive policies.
