The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, in coordination with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), convened a technical meeting with relevant authorities from the interim government and international organizations to address the challenges facing refugees and internally displaced citizens.

In a statement issued by the ministry, Acting Minister for Refugees and Repatriation Mawlawi Abdul Kabir condemned Pakistan’s forced expulsion of Afghan refugees, stating that violence against refugees is unacceptable and contributes to growing tensions between the two countries.

He also emphasized the importance of effective international assistance and urged the global community to increase its support for Afghan refugees.

Meanwhile, UNAMA Deputy Representative Indrika Ratwatte reaffirmed the continuation of humanitarian aid and noted that nearly 800,000 Afghan refugees have returned from Pakistan since the end of 2023.
