    Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali Discusses Implementation of Mass Immunization Policy with WHO Representatives

    The Ministry of Public Health reports that Acting Minister Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali met with Edwin Snyza Slawder, WHO Representative for Afghanistan, and Dr. Hamid Jafari, WHO’s Eastern Mediterranean Regional Polio Eradication Coordinator.

    According to the ministry’s statement, discussions focused on organizing training seminars, enhancing polio vaccine implementation, providing health services and facilities for returning refugees, supplying medical equipment to hospitals, implementing the mass immunization policy, and collaborating on cancer treatment.

    The Acting Minister emphasized that combating infectious diseases is a top priority and requested WHO’s support in facilitating services for returning refugees at Torkham and equipping the newly established hospital for thalassemia patients in Herat.

    WHO representatives provided updates on their activities and assured full cooperation in the mentioned areas.
