The Economic Times reports that Pakistan has postponed a $1.5 billion agreement to sell weapons and fighter jets to Sudan due to opposition from Saudi Arabia.

The report adds that Saudi Arabia has also directly requested Pakistani officials to cancel the deal.

It is said that Saudi Arabia, which is apparently considered an ally of Pakistan, made this decision on the advice of Western countries in order to distance itself from ongoing conflicts in Africa.

According to the Economic Times, in addition, a $4 billion deal for the sale of Pakistani weapons and aircraft to Libya is also under threat.
