International media outlets report that a powerful explosion took place at a factory in Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial zone.
Qatar’s Ministry of Interior reported that 54 people were injured in the explosion, while 18 others remain missing.
Rescue teams, working alongside civil defense units, are continuing search and rescue operations at the site.
Qatari authorities stated that the explosion was caused by a technical malfunction during factory operations.
The Ministry of Interior stressed that no hazardous material leakage has been detected in connection with the incident.
