The Tasnim News Agency has reported that Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that the current insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is a direct result of the United States breaking its commitments and carrying out attacks against Iran.

He emphasized that Iran is firmly determined to defend its national interests and security and will not allow the United States to exploit the Strait of Hormuz against Iran’s security.

At the same time, Lavrov condemned the U.S. and Israeli attacks against Iran and expressed support for strengthening regional security cooperation based on the participation of the countries in the region.
