The Ministry of Public Works announced that its acting minister, Mullah Mohammad Isa Thani, met with Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Kabul, Aybek Usmanov.
According to the ministry’s statement, the discussions focused on reconstructing the Hairatan–Mazar-i-Sharif railway, facilitating trade and transit between the two countries, and conducting feasibility studies for the Balkh–Herat railway project.
Both sides emphasized the need for comprehensive cooperation to strengthen economic ties, enhance trade exchanges, and develop and standardize railway infrastructure between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.
