Afghanistan’s ambassador in Qatar, Mohammad Suhail Shaheen, announced that talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan’s military regime, mediated by Qatar and Turkey, ended with a successful outcome.

Shaheen said both sides agreed that Pakistan would not support opponents of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan or back attacks against it, while Afghanistan pledged not to support opposition groups or attacks inside Pakistan.

He added that the agreement also included commitments from Pakistan’s military regime to respect Afghanistan’s sovereignty and to refrain from targeting civilians or infrastructure.

Shaheen praised the role of Qatar and Turkey in facilitating the dialogue and confirmed that the next round of talks will take place in Turkey.
