The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation said in a statement that delegations from Afghanistan and Turkmenistan agreed at the conclusion of a two-day meeting in Herat to expand transport and transit relations and increase cooperation in these areas.
The meeting was hosted by Afghanistan and chaired by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. During the meeting, both sides comprehensively discussed transport- and transit-related issues and emphasized the expansion of cooperation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that a joint commission would be established to address issues related to road transportation between the two countries.
The two sides also emphasized the need to facilitate visa issuance for drivers and traders and to increase the movement of transit vehicles between the two countries.
