Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has reported a significant rise in trade with Iran, with Afghan exports to the neighboring country reaching $45 million over the past ten months.
Ministry spokesperson Akhundzada Abdul Salam Jawad stated that imports from Iran to Afghanistan during the same period amounted to $2.692 billion.
Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment (ACCI) has confirmed a notable increase in trade and economic relations between the two countries, emphasizing that Iran has become one of Afghanistan’s key trading partners.
It is worth noting that since the interim government took power, Afghanistan has shifted its trade focus from Pakistan to Iran and Central Asia. As a result, trade with Pakistan has steadily declined, while commercial exchanges with other regional countries continue to grow.
