Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and China have discussed opportunities to expand trade, transit and investment cooperation.
The Ministry of Industry and Commerce said in a statement that Minister Nooruddin Azizi discussed opportunities to strengthen trade, transit and investment ties among the three countries at the Surkhandarya–China Trade Forum in Termez, Uzbekistan.
Minister Azizi said Afghanistan is seeking to establish new transit corridors with Central Asia and China and increase its exports, particularly to the Chinese market.
He described Afghanistan as an attractive destination for joint Chinese and Uzbek investment in mining, agriculture, energy, industry and infrastructure, and reaffirmed the country’s readiness to facilitate investment by companies from both countries.
The forum was attended by officials from Uzbekistan and China, the governor of Balkh, Afghanistan’s ambassador to Tashkent, and several representatives of the Afghan private sector.
