    Afghan writer and historian Qari Abdul Sattar Saeed says that Pakistan is not in a position to make grand claims, and its hostility toward Afghanistan is a burden of thorns from which its forefathers— the British, the Soviets, and the Americans — have all sought refuge.

    Mr. Saeed adds that starting enmity with Afghanistan is easy, but bringing it to an end is difficult.
