Blind and Baseless Criticism Regarding the Treatment of Return Refugees

After the Islamic system came to power in Afghanistan and the era of the mercenary and dependent government ended, some neighboring countries that saw their interests in the continued instability and dependence of Afghanistan tried to exert pressure on the nascent Islamic government using various tools. One of the most obvious of these tools was the mass and brutal expulsion of Afghan immigrants from the territories of those countries.

Last year, Pakistan brutally and inhumanely deported hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees from the country in a cruel manner, accompanied by threats and humiliation. This year, Iran, adopting the same approach, has initiated a new wave of forced evictions.

However, in the face of these injustices, the caretaker government of Afghanistan has welcomed returning refugees with open arms, like a compassionate and responsible father, and has been trying to heal the painful wounds of exile and displacement. From providing shelter and basic amenities to serious diplomatic efforts to stop this cruel process, the caretaker government has always stood by its oppressed and displaced people.

Extensive planning has also been done within the country for the transfer, resettlement, and provision of the needs of returnees, and the construction of residential towns with basic living facilities is underway. Senior government officials, including the Prime Minister, have repeatedly asked host countries to carry out the deportation process with human dignity, calm, and Islamic conduct.

However, amidst this, some detractors and biased figures whose interests lie in sowing discord and painting a bleak picture of the situation in Afghanistan have attempted to cloud the atmosphere of trust and sincerity between the nation and the government by spreading baseless rumors and unfounded accusations. They are trying to create ethnic and political division in society by spreading lies such as “discrimination between immigrants returning from Iran and Pakistan.”

But the informed and noble people of Afghanistan know better than anyone that this blind propaganda and rumor-mongering not only fails to hide the truth but also further reveals the true face of the enemies of national unity. Those who are spreading discord today, not only are they not sympathetic to this nation, but they have also not been and are not partners in the grief and pain of the immigrants.

They are executioners who exploit the suffering of the nation for political gain and also trade the unity, dignity, and authority of the Afghan people for personal interests.

However, it must be said that despite all the suffering and challenges, the people of Afghanistan remain awake, united, and in agreement. The people understand well that in such difficult circumstances, helping each other, showing solidarity, and maintaining unity are among the most important tools for dealing with internal and external conspiracies. In the shadow of this unity and solidarity, what the enemies of national unity will achieve will be nothing but disgrace, failure, and humiliation.
