Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), said during the Investment Attraction and Energy Sector Support Conference that the “power islands” created under previous governments have been dismantled, transparency has been established, and as a result, broad opportunities for investment have emerged.
He stated that the purpose of the conference is to facilitate electricity transmission from Central Asia to South Asia, introduce investment opportunities to domestic and foreign investors, exchange technical experiences, and pave the way for multilateral cooperation.
Dr. Omar also called on the international community to resume cooperation with Afghanistan in accordance with international conventions. He stated that if not, Afghanistan may be forced to resort to alternative energy sources instead of focusing on green energy.
